SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): NWRA’s Future Industry Leaders Alliance (FILA) announces its 2022 International Exchange to Sweden. Hosted by Volvo Construction Equipment and Mack Trucks, the event will focus on innovative material sustainability, electromobility, equipment and fleet innovation, and autonomous solutions. The weeklong program will provide attendees with professional development opportunities, including exploring future technologies, visiting ReTuna Recycling Galeria, test-driving various pieces of equipment and trucks, and engaging with other area waste and recycling companies and suppliers for networking, collaboration, and education seminars. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to get to know other FILA members through fun activities, social networking, and sightseeing.
“It is incredibly important that we expose our members to all that our great industry has to offer, which includes both opportunities to learn about what is going on stateside as well as engaging in the opportunities, challenges, and advancements the business faces globally. We, as an industry and members, are sincerely indebted to the commitment of Volvo and Mack for making this trip possible,” said Liza Casella, co-chair of the FILA Board.
The 2022 International Exchange is scheduled for September 2022. Details on timing, agenda, and logistics will be forthcoming. All FILA activities, including this event, are self-funded and not paid for by the Association’s finances.
FILA previously held an international exchange with the BDE Junior Association in 2018. The event, which was hosted by SSI Schaefer in Munich, Germany, provided both FILA and BDE members with professional development, networking, educational, and sightseeing opportunities.
