The facility will ensure that used electronic items are processed in a safe and responsible manner, thereby helping to minimize the threat caused to humans and environment. In addition, the facility will offer training to informal recyclers on the risks caused by unscientific methods of handling electronic waste. It aims to process around 15,000 devices including cathode ray tubes (CRTs), refrigerators, electric fans, mobile phones.

The facility will significantly benefit garbage trader groups and junk shops in the region. Also, it will provide a source of income for several residents in the Dampalit and Longos, by rewarding them for unwanted electronic and electrical items collected by them.
